Solitude

A good friend of mine keeps asking to workout with me and go on vacation. I told him that going to the gym is my time that allows me to clear my mind and I would not mind going on vacation. However, I love vacation, but sometimes when I'm on vacation I just like to relax by the pool or beach having a drink. It reminds me of this from Henry David Thoreau:

" I find it wholesome to be alone
the greater part of the time. To be
in the company, even with the best
of friends, is soon wearisome and
dissipating. I love to be alone. I never
found the companion that was as
companionable as solitude."

Although we are sociable by nature, we always need time to ourselves.
