White Supremacy

Shelby Steele wrote an opinion piece in May 2, 2006 Wall St. Journal regarding white guilt caused by the European colonization of the world. In today's world, America and Europe should not be influenced by moral relativist within their own society that blame America or Europeans first and also thoses societies of color that constantly cry oppression and refer back to history ignoring their own repressive regimes. His basic premise is that White aka European/American foreign policy toward other countries should not be based on a policy of contrition for past wrongs against people of color. In fact Western Culture's values are superior and respect humanity, the dignity and rights of the individuals far more than the regimes of "color" that cry out white suppression.

I encourage you to read the article and no it is not by some racist. It is easy for people that don't want to debate issues in an honest, open and logical manner to try to silence the opposition with ad hominem attacks. I'm pretty thick head so it never works with me.

Again, I apologize and will work his comments in another post that I will write about Europe and Islam.

Read it, loved it, and know it's very true.

The Euros and other liberals look at the fact we're in Iraq and say that is US "Imperialism".

Then in the very same breath, they say since we are the most powerful nation on earth, we have the RESPONSIBILITY to go in to situations like those in Darfur.

Liberals can't get away from the fact they still view the world in the context of the colonialists: Since the Western (White) World is so rich, powerful and progressive, we have the responsibility to help those poor, backwards brown people out.

I call bullshit. You can't have it both ways.

The United States does not have any moral obligation, but Europe does. However, I would like to see us in Darfur or at least start arming South Sudan. We need to have these people as proxies in our fight against Islamic Extremists.

It is very interesting reading about American Foreign Policy and reading the senate debates regarding any territory that we conquered. It was never to hold and keep, but to act as a guardain that will aid in their development of democratic institutions. Read the debates about Philliphines and Cuba. America always had the intention of turning over the country to its citizens when they were able to fend for themselves.
